When LumiRed approached SimplePlan, it faced a unique set of hurdles that limited its growth—despite offering a powerful, science-backed product. First, public knowledge of red light therapy in Ireland was limited, and existing perceptions were often clouded by scepticism. Most potential customers didn’t fully understand what the technology was or how it could help them, making education a critical need.
The website, which should have played a key role in building trust, wasn’t doing the job. There was no clear user journey—from discovery to belief to purchase. The website had room to improve in guiding users through the benefits and effectiveness of the product. While it provided information, it didn’t fully create a smooth, logical flow that gradually built users’ confidence and understanding to support their purchase decision.
Conversion rates reflected this disconnect. Without the right content strategy and flow, users weren’t gaining enough confidence to buy. Design-wise, the site also struggled with visual impact. The original red color scheme was replaced with a softer peach, which—while calming—lacked the energy and clarity needed to inspire action or convey scientific credibility. Overall, the brand needed a better narrative, smarter flow, and more intentional design to break through scepticism and convert curiosity into committed customers.

For LumiRed, trust was as important as technology. We helped them define and express a personality that reflected both their values and their users’ expectations. The brand needed to feel intelligent but not intimidating, empathetic but not overly casual. We distilled their core attributes—innovative, honest, effective, ethical, non-invasive—into a personality with a tone that was calm, clear, and quietly confident.
This voice was applied across the entire site, from product descriptions to educational content to CTAs. We avoided jargon overload while still offering scientific validation for the more curious reader. Everything, from the mission and vision statements to the website copy, was written to resonate with a diverse audience: from chronic pain sufferers to wellness enthusiasts, and from the tech-savvy to the skeptical.
This unified personality helped position LumiRed as both a credible expert and a helpful guide. It made the brand feel more human—speaking to real people about real concerns with respect, clarity, and purpose.
LumiRed initially moved away from red, opting for a softer peach palette to appear less aggressive. While well-intentioned, this choice distanced the brand from the immediate, intuitive connection users make between the color red and red light therapy. Rather than rejecting red outright, we approached it with nuance.
Through user behavior analysis and stylescape exploration, we strategically reintroduced red—not as a flat background but as a meaningful accent. The result was a design language that felt cleaner, more modern, and instantly relevant to the therapy itself. We paired red with whites and neutrals to retain calmness while regaining category recognition.
Alongside, we redesigned the logo to feel modern and minimal, with a professional, wellness-forward aesthetic. Art direction was developed to ensure consistency across all visuals—from packaging to social to website. We also set the tone for future product photography and videography, helping the LumiRed team capture a clean, trustworthy, and medically credible look that still felt warm and human.
The result is a brand that now feels confident, clear, and credible, visually communicating effectiveness and trust from the first glance.
The original LumiRed website lacked a structured user journey. There was no clear path from curiosity to conversion—just an overload of information without narrative flow. We began by reviewing heatmaps and user analytics to understand how people engaged with the content and where they dropped off.
Using these insights, we designed a website flow that met users where they were in their decision-making process. Educational content was broken into digestible segments and embedded contextually across key pages.
